Fortnite Takedown Questline: How I Saved Peely and Farmed XP
Fortnite Chapter 5 Takedown quests guide you through Society vaults, bosses, guards, and medallions for XP and Peely’s rescue reward.
Let me tell you about the Fortnite Chapter 5 Takedown questline. The Society grabbed Peely at the start of the chapter, and for a while it felt like there was no way to rescue the little guy. Then the Takedown quests showed up, and suddenly I had a checklist: hit the Society where it hurts, steal their vaults, and earn a pile of XP while doing it. As of 2026, if you're revisiting that chapter or just want a clean walkthrough, this is the route I use.

🍌 The Takedown checklist at a glance
There are nine Takedown quests. Complete eight and you get The Great Peely Rescue loading screen. Each quest gives 15K XP, so this is not a small detour. Here's the full list and how I handle each one.
| Quest | What I do | XP |
|---|---|---|
| Secure Capture Points, Forecast Towers, or Combat Caches | Secure two of these. Forecast Towers and Combat Caches ping on the map when active. Capture Points sit at various POIs and on the Floating Island. | 15K |
| Open Society Vault | Open three vaults. There are seven: Ritzy Riviera, Lavish Lair, Snooty Steppes, Fencing Fields, Hazy Hillside, Grand Glacier, and Reckless Railways. | 15K |
| Collect Society Medallions in different matches | Grab three medallions across separate matches. The five Medallion Bosses drop them. | 15K |
| Eliminate Legion Tactical Enemies | Take down ten Legion Tactical enemies. They patrol major POIs that have a Medallion Boss. | 15K |
| Eliminate Legion Heavy Enemies | Take down ten Legion Heavy enemies. They are the bigger guards in heavy gear. | 15K |
| Defeat Oscar | Beat the boss at Lavish Lair. | 15K |
| Defeat Valeria | Beat the boss at Reckless Railways. | 15K |
| Defeat Nisha | Beat the boss at Fencing Fields. | 15K |
| Defeat Montague | Beat the boss at Grand Glacier. | 15K |
💥 How I actually run the Takedown quests
I like to start with the chores that overlap. The Legion guards hang around major POIs with a Medallion Boss, so I pick a boss POI and clear the guards while I'm there. That way the Tactical and Heavy elimination quests progress at the same time as a boss kill. The Heavy guards are easy to spot: they are larger and wear heavier gear. If I see a big one, I call it out to myself like a goofball and take them down first.

Vaults are the next stop. I don't try to open all seven in one match. I pick a route near the storm edge and hit three vaults over a couple of matches. Ritzy Riviera, Lavish Lair, and Snooty Steppes are a nice cluster if the bus path cooperates. If not, I just rotate toward whichever vault is closest to my landing spot.
Medallions need separate matches, so I don't stress about getting all three in one run. I treat each match as a chance to grab one medallion and then play normally. The bosses are not pushovers, but the medallion is worth it.
Capture Points, Forecast Towers, and Combat Caches are the flex quest. I secure two of whatever is closest. Forecast Towers and Combat Caches ping automatically when they are active, which saves me a lot of map squinting. Capture Points show up at POIs and on the Floating Island, so I keep an eye out while looting.
🍌 Peely's Secret Quests are easy to miss
Here's the part that got me. Peely's Secret Quests are hidden. They do not show up in the Quest menu. You have to place Missing Banana signs and Sensors at major POIs. I only found them because I noticed clear silhouettes on the map and walked up to them.

The rule I follow is simple: Missing Banana signs usually go on platforms near railways. Sensors usually go on the hills on the outskirts of POIs. When I see a clear silhouette, I approach it and interact. Completing these secret quests gives a hefty amount of XP, so they are worth the detour.

🛡️ My final tips
-
Do not chase all nine quests in one match. Batch them by location.
-
Clear Legion guards at boss POIs before or after the boss fight.
-
Pick three vaults that fit your route, not the three farthest apart.
-
Treat medallions as a multi-match mission.
-
If you see a silhouette at a POI, stop and place the sign or sensor. Future you will thank present you.
That's the whole Takedown questline for me. Save Peely, rob the Society blind, and cash in the XP. It is a good time, even in 2026.
